Delivery & Installation (Rural water tanks only)
Bushranger's delivery vehicles are big. A standard truck and trailer combination
is 19 meters (63 ft) long, with a load being be up to 5 meters (16.5ft) high and
3.5 meters (11.6ft) wide. In order to deliver your water tanks, our driver will
need clear access through gates, along roads, over crossings and under trees
on your property.
When assessing your site access, you must take into consideration that our
truck and trailer combinations have a turning circle of 24 meters (80ft), that the
ground clearance on the trailer is very low and that it is preferable to unload
water tanks on a level site, as sloping ground can make delivery difficult.
Even when orderding relatively small water tanks, you must allow for the above
dimensions, as our driver's delivery sequence is established by geographic
requirements rather than the water tanks size. This means that although your
water tank could be small, the balance of the driver's deliveries may include
one of our largest tanks. To deliver your tank, the driver must have clear
access for the entire load not just your tank.
All Bushranger's drivers have an obligation to work within the relevant Occupational
Health and Safety guidelines and they are instructed to avoid any risk to personal
safety or property damage. The final decision on whether it is safe to deliver a
water tank to your preferred site will be at the discretion of the driver.
In the event that a water tank cannot be delivered to the preferred site, the tank
will be positioned in the nearest mutually agreed location. The week prior to
delivery of any water tanks, we will contact you to confirm delivery details.
At that time we will ask you to verify the following points.
• Road type and condition
• Type of Landscape (flat, undulating, hilly)
• Truck access (turning circle for a fully loaded truckand trailer)
• Trailer access (ground clearance)
• The positions of gates, fences, buildings and trees
• Assistance available to help unload (as per attached schedule)
• A "Mud Map" to assist the driver in locating your property
note: Please consider site access carefully, if we are unable to complete a delivery
due to poor access and a water tank has to be returned to our premises, a 15%
restocking fee may be applied.
Unloading a water tank can be a physically demanding; our drivers will need your
help to unload large water tanks. Please ensure the people available to help the
driver are physically capable of performing this duty.

Please ensure that all points are taken into consideration before accepting delivery
of your water tank(s).
• Ensure that the tank site is flat, level & free from any rocks or stones etc, or any other foreign matter that may damage the tanks base.
• If fill is used to prepare or level the site, ensure that the surface is well compacted to eliminate any soft spots.
• Ensure the water tanks location site is at least 600mm larger in diameter than the tank, i.e. tank diameter 3.7m, tank site location 4.3m.
• Ensure a flexible connection at least 300mm in length is fitted between the tank outlet valve and the down stream piping.
• Tie down and secure water tanks on delivery either by tying down with rope or putting at least 100mm of water in tank.
• Tank outlets must not be subjected to any extra force, e.g. over tightened.
• Overflow must be piped away from base.
• The number of inlet pipes, their sizes and capacities must equal the number
of overflow pipes, their sizes and capacities.
• Do not allow the tank site to deteriorate after installation due to any form of erosion or site destruction caused by vermin such as rabbits and cane toads etc.
• If the water tank is partially sunk in the ground, ensure the tank base is buried no more than 600mm below ground level.
